The main aim of the design was to maximise the use of the narrower side of the plot. The project responds to this condition by organising the space around light, storage and a series of connected elements.
The kitchen is oriented towards the light, while a small adjoining nook provides additional storage for the owner’s collection of books, spices, plants and herbs. The space also acts as a visual display of the pantry.
Together, these elements bring a sense of lightness and airiness to the overall volume. The crescent-shaped form extends around an outdoor BBQ area and bench, with both responding to the same geometry.
A series of circular skylights introduces warm natural light into the space. Throughout the day, the changing light alters the atmosphere of the interior.
